Disclaimer: Fantine is a character from Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo. She is based on the book and not the musical, and appears here solely for role-playing in milliways_bar from which no profit is being made.

Fantine is a 27-year-old woman, but her hair is gray from premature aging caused by stress. She's extremely thin. Also, she's dead, probably from tuberculosis exacerbated by a total scumbag throwing snow down her back in January of 1823. Before death, she had her teeth yanked out and sold, but they have mysteriously re-materialized in Milliways.

Fantine's most important relationship in her life is with her daughter, Cosette, for whom she sacrifices everything. Cosette's father abandoned them both, and Fantine works herself to the bone to support herself and her daughter, finally turning to the harshest and most brutal form of sex work in her society by becoming a street prostitute. That said, there's a lot more to her than her suffering: she's generally a warm person who both loves and hates fiercely, impulsive, romantic, quick to make decisions, extremely determined, optimistic despite her life being pretty grim, and almost ridiculously brave.
